What to expect from marching season
"Marching band provides a “society” and “family” to which all band students can belong. It is a place where they learn values and standards, where they can learn to depend on one another in their pursuit of their excellence. They learn about responsibility, doing their fair share, and sticking to a common goal. They learn to value people, respect their peers, and not make judgments on the superficial. They frequently acquire a stronger base for their adult life than any other avenue open to them." ~ Unknown
Band Camp
Camp begins during the last full week of July and into first week of August...followed by evening practices.
During Band Camp, the SGBPA plans a few fun events for the students to help break up their time in the heat and all their hard work. Water Wednesday is always a good day to take time and cool off...
Call it a sneak peek, but at the end of Band Camp, a first run of the show is put on for the families to enjoy.
